Much opposite to its nature, the pleasant city of Pune has been reeling under the grip of warm weather conditions. Both the maximum and minimum temperatures have been settling well above normal.
The city is famous for its pleasant weather conditions throughout the year. However, last few days have been different to the usual.
According to Skymet Weather, this warm weather is due to the change in the wind pattern over the city. At present, warm inland winds have been reaching Pune. These easterly winds are blowing from Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh that have been already witnessing above normal temperatures.
In wake of this, mercury is settling above the normal average temperatures. On Thursday, the city recorded maximum temperature of 31.3°C, while the minimum temperature settled at 13.9°C.
Further, there is no relief in offing from the warm weather conditions for the next 2-3 days as well. Thereafter, wind pattern will change once again and these warm land winds will be replaced by cold winds from northern plains.
In wake of this, mercury will then take a dip of 2-3 degrees, making the weather pleasant and comfortable once again.
Also, Pune does not record any significant amount of rainfall during February and its normal average rainfall stands at mere 0.5 mm, which is equal to nil. Going as per the standards, the city has remained practically dry, so far. Moreover, we do not foresee any rain activity in the leftover days of the month also.
