As reiterated by Skymet Weather, heavy rains have occurred over parts of Tamil Nadu wherein Nagapattinam recorded 53 mm, Karaikal 132 mm, Cuddalore 15 mm, Adirampattinam 9 mm, Tiruchchirappalli 13 mm and light rains were also seen over Chennai as well around a mm.
At present, a Trough is extending from Comorin region to South Coastal Tamil Nadu. Thus, on and off rains will continue over southern parts of the state of Tamil Nadu. However, rainfall activities will further increase over Karnataka as well due to the low pressure area over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Southwest Arabian Sea, humid southwesterly winds have been feeding moisture over Kerala and Karnataka.
Thus, rains will increase over Kerala and Karnataka as well. Coastal districts of Karnataka and adjoining parts may see intense spells of rains in the next 48 hours. Thus, Chitradurga, Dakshin Kannada, Chikmanglur, Shimoga, Hasan, may see heavy rains in the coming two to three days.
Light rains may commence over northern districts of Karnataka by tomorrow, but southern parts and Andhra Pradesh will be almost dry. However, isolated rains cannot be ruled out there as well.
Adilabad and Nizamabad in northern parts of Telangana may see some rains.
