Southwest Monsoon has advanced over parts of Marathwada, the entire region of Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Tamil Nadu, parts of Telangana, and some parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Southwest Monsoon is expected to advance over eastern parts.
For the Western Ghats, Monsoon has advanced over Gujarat a little ahead of its time. On the other side over the eastern part, Monsoon has been slower. By June 15, Monsoon otherwise advances to Entire Maharashtra, South Chhattisgarh, covers entire West Bengal, and even makes halfway to Jharkhand and Bihar. However, Monsoon has remained stagnant for the last few days over the eastern region.
Earlier also, until June 6-7, it was stagnant after reaching Siliguri. Now, conditions are favourable for Monsoon to make a big leap covering the entire West Bengal, reaching parts of Odisha and travelling up to Bihar and Jharkhand. Over the southern parts also, we can expect more parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra to see Monsoon advancement in the next two days or so.
Capital city of Kolkata may also see the advancement of Monsoon. Thus, Monsoon is likely to make some progress over the Eastern side. Though Monsoon is not going to have a vigorous entry here, but we can expect rains in some parts.
