The eastern parts of the country have been witnessing some weather activity in the past few days. Last week, rain and dust storm were observed over parts of Jharkhand. Along with this, West Bengal also saw some weather activity during the same time frame. Isolated rainfall activity was also observed over Odisha. Meanwhile, the state of Chhattisgarh remained dry during that time.

Currently, a small confluence zone has formed over Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh. Along with this, a trough is extending from North Bangladesh up to North Odisha across Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. Southwesterly moist winds are expected to blow over the area.
Now, thunderstorm, dust storm activities may occur at a few parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal during late afternoon or evening hours of tomorrow. However, these activities will be the least in the Chhattisgarh region. Along with this, strong and gusty winds will also prevail over the region. Thereafter, weather will become dry.
Cities of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Sundergarh, Purulia, Bankura, Mindapore, Chaibasa, Bokaro, Gumla, Ambikapur are likely to see some thunderstorms. During the Pre-Monsoon season, this weather activity wherein strong winds along with thunderstorms occur become a common feature for the region.
