At present, northeast states are experiencing light to moderate rain and thundershower activities since the last few days now. These were at times accompanied with strong winds and heavy showers at isolated places.
All these weather conditions are prevailing due to the presence of a Cyclonic Circulation over Northeast Bihar and adjoining parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. An upper air trough is extending up to Odisha. Apart from this, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over eastern parts of Assam in the lower levels.
Also, one after the other Western Disturbances are moving across the Tibet region. In association with above systems, the southwesterly and southerly air mass is prevailing from Bay of Bengal over to Northeast states.
Hence, these weather conditions are likely to continue throughout the week. States like that of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland may experience moderate rain and thundershower activity with squally winds at some places.
The day temperatures will be between 27 to 30 degree Celsius over most places. However, due to the occurrence of rainfall and moist winds, the weather conditions will remain humid throughout day and night.
Heat wave however might continue to prevail over these places even amidst the rainy weather.
