The city of Pune has experienced a consistent decline in temperature over the past week, with a further decrease anticipated commencing December 18.
Cold northerly winds will blow over the region after the Western Disturbance moves away from North India, which will result in a further drop in minimums, which is expected to be a notable decrease during this period.
The recent meteorological observations indicate that the city has encountered clear skies for the preceding 3 to 4 days, contributing to a fluctuation in temperature. On Thursday, the city recorded its lowest minimum temperature of the season at 14 degrees Celsius in the Shivajinagar area. The minimum temperature, which was 4 degrees Celsius above the normal range on December 10, has receded by 2 degrees Celsius as of December 14.
Similarly, there has been a decline of 2-3 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature between December 12 and 14. Specifically, the maximum temperature, which registered at 31.4 degrees Celsius on December 12, decreased to 28.8 degrees Celsius on December 14.
Analyzing the data further, Shivajinagar exhibited a minimum temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius on December 10. However, a gradual decline has been observed since December 12, culminating in a 2-degree Celsius deviation below the normal range, with the city recording a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius on December 14.
