The month of April began on a rainy note for the state of Rajasthan. Pre Monsoon showers have made an appearance over the state. These showers have come out as a relief for the residents from the scorching heat.

A cyclonic circulation was prevailing over North Rajasthan and adjoining West Haryana. In the wake of this weather system, dust storm, rain, and thundershower activity were recorded over the northern districts of the state.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Bikaner recorded rain to the tune of 15 mm, Sri Ganganagar 0.4 mm and Churu 0.2 mm of rains. In the same time frame, Sikar and Alwar recorded traces of rains.
As per weathermen, this cyclonic circulation is seen over the northeastern parts of the state. Therefore, we expect scattered dust storm and thunderstorm activity to continue over the northern parts of the state. These weather activities are expected to continue during the next two to three days.
The intensity of rains is likely to be light to moderate. Heavy pre Monsoon showers are ruled out. In fact, in view of the pre Monsoon activity, the minimum and maximum temperatures have already witnessed a drop over many parts of Rajasthan.
Weathermen also expect a further drop in temperatures. In fact, the heatwave conditions which were prevailing over West Rajasthan are also anticipated to abate the state.
It is expected that the temperatures would not rise significantly for another three to four days and are likely to settle in the similar range. However, rains are likely to subside completely around April 10. Henceforth, the temperatures are expected to rise gradually during that time.
