As predicted by Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy rains have lashed the southern districts of Maharashtra. According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, Ratnagiri has recorded 55 mm of rain and Solapur 32 mm in a span of 21 hours from 8:30 am on Friday.
Meanwhile, light showers were seen over North Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, and North Konkan and Goa. Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur, and Dahanu were the ones to witness these rainfall activities.
According to our meteorologists, the Very Severe Cyclone Kyarr has shifted over the West Central Arabian Sea and would further move westwards.
In the wake of this movement, moderate rain with one or two heavy spells would lash parts of South Konkan and Goa such as Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, and Panjim during the next 24 hours. Already moderate rain to the tune of 27 mm has been recorded in Goa during the last 21 hours.
Meanwhile, Mumbai rains would remain on the much lower side with the chances of only light showers during the next 24 hours.
The rainfall activities would taper over the entire Maharashtra region after the next 24 hours, however, light to moderate showers would continue as an after-effect of the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm in some parts.
The meteorologists at Skymet have predicted chances of isolated light rain on the evening of Diwali in parts of Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra with one or two moderate spells over parts of Vidarbha.
