The Low-Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal has entered the land and is presently lying over South Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha. The system is tilting Southwestwards with height.
The Monsoon has already entered the extreme southern parts of Chhattisgarh including the region of Jagdalpur yesterday. The present situation is favorable for the further advancement of Monsoon to cover most parts of Chhattisgarh and some parts of Southeast Madhya Pradesh in the coming 24 to 48 hours.
Yesterday,moderate rainfall has occurred at many places over Chhattisgarh, with afew heavy spells including western parts of Madhya Pradeshwhich also received pre-Monsoon activities at some parts over Southeast and adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh. The heavy spells occurred over Mana which recorded 50 mm of rains whileRatlamreceived 54 mm.
Rain and thundershower activities will continue at most places over Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours. The Northern parts of the state are likely to receive moderate to heavy spells while light to moderate rains are likely over southern parts. This rainfall activity will reduce gradually after 24 hours.
At the same time, adjoining parts of East Madhya Pradesh will receive scattered light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy spells during the next 24 hours. The rainfall activity will enhance over Southwest parts of Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas during the next 24 hours. Isolated activity is also possible over Northwest Madhya Pradesh tomorrow.
Heat wave has now abated form both the states and present wind pattern suggests the temperatures to drop further over most parts of the state during the next two days.
