Hyderabad weather has taken an unexpected turn and residents witnessed the coldest night of November in almost a decade. While North Indians have been getting a taste of winter for the past few days, cold weather conditions have also been observed in the capital city of Telangana.
On Friday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 12.4 degree Celsius. In fact, the city has been recording low minimums for the past two days. At present, the minimum temperature is seven degrees below the normal levels.
Not only this, the last time Hyderabad witnessed such low minimum was on November 18, 2011, where minimum temperature was 12.4 degrees. On November 25, 2007, Hyderabad recorded a minimum temperature of 11.3 degrees, which happens to be the lowest in a decade. The record stands at 7.4 degrees on November 26, 1964.
These weather conditions can be attributed to the northerly winds which are coming from Jammu and Kashmir. These winds are reaching up to Vidarbha and Telangana. Humidity levels have also been low which is why cold air has made its presence felt even more.
Now, a cyclonic circulation which is over Punjab and Haryana will obstruct the flow of these winds to the southern state. Thus, temperatures are expected to rise by two to three degrees in the next 48 to 72 hours in Hyderabad and its adjoining areas.
