Key Takeaways:

  • Bengaluru is expected to receive widespread monsoon showers between June 11 and 14.
  • A north-south trough and Arabian Sea moisture are driving the enhanced rainfall activity.
  • Most rainfall will occur during the late afternoon, evening and early night hours.
  • Pleasant temperatures around 28°C/20°C are likely to persist throughout the wet spell.

Capital city Bengaluru is likely to have a decent spell of monsoon showers for the next four days, between 11th and 14th June 2026. The monsoon arrived on 06th June and, prior to that, pre-monsoon showers lashed most parts of the city and suburbs between 01st and 05th June. Bengaluru, as such, does not receive very heavy rainfall during the monsoon, but the showers have been rather mild across the city after the onset. Between 01st and 11th June, Bengaluru City and HAL weather stations have recorded 17.4 mm and 40 mm rainfall, respectively. A significant portion of this rainfall was due to pre-monsoon activity.

A north-south trough is running across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka and up to the southernmost tip of the peninsula. Moist winds from the Arabian Sea, blowing across Kerala and Coastal Karnataka, are converging with the trough. The trough will also oscillate east and west, increasing the spatial coverage of weather activity. Bengaluru will remain a favoured location for this extended wet weather spell over the next four days.

Most of the weather activity will take place during the late afternoon, evening and early night hours. Isolated places may receive moderate to heavy thundershowers, accompanied by strong winds. The city has a normal rainfall of about 110 mm during June and may accumulate another 30-40 mm rainfall during this spell.

Temperatures have already dipped and are likely to remain pleasant. The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 28°C and 20°C, respectively, over the next four days. Weather conditions are likely to improve at the start of next week but may turn rainy once again around the middle of the week.
