The West Coast has been recording good rains for the past few days. Major contribution came from Kerala and Karnataka. All thanks to a trough, which is extending from North Coastal Andhra Pradesh to North Kerala across Rayalaseema and Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rains were recorded at some places over North Kerala, while light to moderate showers were seen over Coastal Karnataka and South Konkan and Goa. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Tuesday, Kozhikode recorded heavy rain to the tune of 59 mm.
Meanwhile, in the same span of time, the vacation city Panjim witnessed moderate intensity rain of 16 mm, followed by Vengurla 13 mm, Mahabaleshwar 14 mm rain. Ratnagiri, Karwar, Shirali, Mangalore, and Cochin also observed light Monsoon rains.

As per Skymet weather, it is anticipated that heavy spells are likely over parts of Kerala and Coastal Karnataka for another 24 hours. Thereafter, the intensity will reduce over Kerala but rains will continue over Coastal Karnataka.
Places such as Kozhikode and Cannur will witness good Monsoon showers. After 24 hours rains may also increase over some more parts of Konkan & Goa. Places like Ratnagiri, Sindhdurg and Mahabaleshwar may receive light to moderate rain spells.
