Most parts of the country remained fog free on Thursday morning with only few locations reporting thick fog. Several weather systems prevailing in North and East India have led to abatement of fog from both the regions.

Fog in North India

Palam Airport in Delhi recorded visibility of 200 meters, while other areas of the capital including Noida Expressway, Indirapuram, Vikaspuri, Dwarka, Model Town and Lajpat Nagar witnessed a fog free morning.

Lucknow also reported shallow fog at 400 meters. While, Chandigarh, Agra, Gwalior had fairly good weather conditions with visibility of up to 1000 meters, followed by Amritsar at 2000 meters.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, chilly north-westerly winds are blowing over North India, which is not allowing fog to settle in the region.

Fog in East India

Siliguri reported dense fog with visibility dropping up to 100 meters, followed by Gaya at 500 meters. Rest of the places in the region were fog free as Allahabad and Gorakhpur had visibility of 1000 meters, while Patna recorded visibility at 200 meters.

According to Skymet, the region is experiencing light rain due to a  convergence zone, prevailing over East Madhya Pradesh, adjoining Jharkhand and Bihar, resulting in fog free mornings.
