Heat wave conditions have been affecting many parts of North India for the past couple of days. , weather conditions have become such that many parts of North India yesterday, which is more than 30 pockets, recorded maximum temperatures above the 45° mark. These pockets were from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and NCR region, Punjab, Bihar etc.
As far as the maximum temperature above the 47 degree mark are concerned, Banda in Madhya Pradesh recorded a whopping 49 degrees Celsius, followed by Churu at 47.9 degrees, Pilani 47.7 degrees, Sri Ganganagar 47.6 degrees, Jhansi 47.6 degrees, Narnaul 47.5 degrees, Khajuraho 47.4 degrees, Nowgong 47.4 degrees, Hisar 47.3 degrees, and Datia 47 degrees, Chandrapur 46.8 degrees.
This is the first time that maximums have had such an expansive reach of cities recording above 47 degrees including the states of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and even parts of Vidarbha.
There is a short and brief relief for northern parts due to some mild Pre Monsoon activity today and tomorrow, however, it will remain short lived only.
