Rain and snow have been wreaking havoc over many parts of the hills of North India for quite some time now. While there have been slight breathers in between, it seems like the frequent Western Disturbances refuse to take a backseat over the hilly states.

Yesterday also, some rain and snow were observed over the hilly regions of North India as a fresh Western Disturbance was over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Now, as the weather system has moved ahead towards Jammu and Kashmir, rain and snow will pick up pace.

Moreover, a yellow weather warning has been issued for the state of Himachal Pradesh for heavy snowfall, rains along with hailstorm activities Monday onward. The higher reaches will see heavy rain and snow while hailstorm activity is expected in the mid reaches as well as the lower hills of the state.

Colour coded warnings are issued to alert the residents for upcoming hazardous weather which usually has the capability of causing widespread damage. Yellow is the least dangerous in the color-coded warnings, however, rain and snow will remain heavy for many parts.

Not only this, an avalanche alert has been issued for Chamba on Monday by the Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) in Manali.

In fact, a list of tracks has also been mentioned which are unsafe during this upcoming weather activity which includes Killar-Gahar-Dunei-Pangi tracks in the Pangi valley, Killar-Ghangit-Barwas, Chhau-Phindru-Thamoh-Killar, Kalaban-Trakar-Ranikot track in Chamba, the Gahar-Dunei-Trakar, and the Hadsar-Ghoi track to Manimahesh (Mahoun) in Bharmour.
