Worst over for Bengaluru, rains to reduce gradually

The city of Bengaluru has seen some heavy Monsoon rains this September so far. In the last 24 hours, patchy rains with moderate to heavy rains were seen in parts. The rain distribution has not been even, and some parts have even seen some light rainfall.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, HAL Airport recorded 60 mm of rains, city observatory saw 38.8 mm, Bengaluru International Airport 6.6 mm, GKVKB recorded 3.6 mm.

Bengaluru's monthly normal is 208.8 mm of rains and the city has so far recorded 267 mm of rainfall, which is in itself a record rain wherein the city has seen such unprecedented rains which paralysed the city for a while.

These rains were in association with a Cyclonic Circulation which was moving from Comorin region to inland along with a Cyclonic Circulation extending the region. Now, the system is over South Interior Karnataka along the coast. However, this system will move up along the coast.

Thus, the worst for now is possibly over for Bengaluru, however some light to moderate rains may be seen today, tomorrow as well as day after tomorrow with a reduction gradually. September 10 onward, big respite is likely and some sunshine may be seen.
