Northwesterly winds have started to blow across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and west Uttar Pradesh. An anti- cyclonic weather system has evolved in west Rajasthan that will continue to spread these winds further into some more parts of central India and Uttar Pradesh in next 24 to 48 hours. These dry winds will stop the moist-easterly winds in these regions thus clearing way for the withdrawal of southwest monsoon from Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
However, expansion of these winds up to some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal will depend on the movement of cyclonic circulation over north Bihar. The weather system will continue to bring rain in Tarai region of east Uttar Pradesh, north Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 24 hours.
