Contrary to the weather pattern in Rajasthan, the Southwest Monsoon has given some really good rain in the state this Monsoon season. In fact, it is one of the best performing pockets of the country.
This is evident from the fact that the withdrawal of Monsoon from Rajasthan that happens from September 1 is likely to be delayed by a week. Thanks to some continuous good rain in the state. According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, moderate to heavy rains have lashed parts of Southeast Rajasthan. In a span of 24 hours from 8.30 am on Sunday Chittorgarh and Bundi have received 56 mm and 29 mm of rain, respectively. Kota and Jaipur also saw 16.2 and 7.9 mm of rain, respectively.
Northwest Rajasthan which is comparatively a dry region of the state also received moderate amounts of rain at some places. According to the rainfall data available with Skymet, Jaisalmer in a span of 24 hours from 8.30 am recorded 31 mm of rain, while Churu and Ganganagar received 8 mm of rain each.
A Cyclonic Circulation over Gujarat and the Axis of Monsoon Trough extending from West Rajasthan up to the eastern parts of the country have given these rains. The weather activity in terms of rain inEast Rajasthan will continue for the next 2 days.
Thereafter, the focus of weather activity will become North Rajasthan as rain will increase in the region. Places like Churu, Bikaner, Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Sikar and Dholpur will observe rain during this period.
