The Southwest Monsoon is all set to bid adieu to India, as it begins to show the signs of its withdrawal. According to Skymet Weather, humid easterly and southeasterly winds, which are normally seen during the four-month long season, have been replaced by dry northwesterly winds.
Withdrawal symptoms are perfectly in sync with the normal date of withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon which is September 1.
To begin with West Rajasthan, the weather over the region and adjoining areas have become dry and sunny. Levels of humidity have also decreased significantly from the western parts of the country.
Weathermen predict that weather systems will now mainly develop over eastern parts of the country. These systems are likely to travel towards Central or West India, unlike during the last three months.
They will remain confined to eastern parts of the country as the upper levels of winds are also blowing from west.
Weather models are of indication that mainly dry weather conditions will continue over West Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Haryana for at least the next 4-5 days. Moreover, dry winds will also prevail over the entire region.
Hence, if these weather conditions will continue to prevail for another 3-4 days then it will mark the commencement of withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon.
