Initially, the Cyclonic Circulation was over Lakshadweep and a Trough was extending up to North Andhra Pradesh coast across Karnataka and Telangana. The system has now moved northwestward, and a Cyclonic Circulation lies over South-central Arabian Sea. The Trough is now moving to the extreme North of Andhra Pradesh Coast, Telangana and then towards Cyclonic Circulation.

This Trough will weaken as the Cyclonic Circulation is likely to move further away.

In the last 24 hours, Andhra Pradesh recorded moderate to heavy rains in some parts. Significant rains of 40 mm were recorded in Rentachintala, Khammam 15 mm, Hyderabad 29 mm, and Hanamkonda 8 mm. With these rains in offing, Hyderabad surpassed its monthly average of 103 mm.

During early morning hours, a hazy cloud was a sight. As per our experts, the rainfall activity with moderate spells and isolated heavy showers is likely to continue at some places of Telangana including Hyderabad, Khammam, Mahbubnagar and in Andhra Pradesh mainly over the North Andhra Pradesh coast.

Along with this, scattered light rain is likely over the rest parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

These rainfall activities will reduce significantly after 24 hours in Telangana while Andhra Pradesh will continue to see light to moderate showers for the next four to five days. Whereas scattered light to moderate showers can be seen over Rayalaseema.

It is very likely that around October 18, Telangana will once again pick up rains.
