Mumbai rains have been playing enough games and rainfall activity has been a see saw affair. Today, it was a rainy afternoon for the city of Mumbai and rains picked up pace during the evening hours.
So much so that the city saw hefty rains all across with Mumbai Monsoon woes also making an appearance. Moreover, in the last 12 hours, Santa Cruz received 132 mm of rainfall, out of which 124 mm was recorded in mere 6 hours from 5:30 pm to 11:30 pm. Other parts of Mumbai have also received three digit rainfall activity.
These heavy rains have caused enough chaos causing traffic jams through the city. 17 flights have been diverted due to heavy rains in Mumbai and many parts being waterlogged.
The worst sufferers have been JVLR, Kurla, Badlapur, Tilak Nagar, Hindmata, Andheri, Matunga and many other areas where knee deep waters have been seen. Moreover, office commuters suffered big time, with many being stranded on roads for very long hours. It was a disastrous Friday night for Mumbaikars as rains continued to batter the city.
Mumbai rains, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, will continue through the night with slight breaks in between. Moreover, waterlogging may not be eased out and worsen further due to more rains.
Some relief may be seen in the late afternoon hours of tomorrow in terms of rain.
