During the month of December, wintry weather conditions were missing from Delhi and the NCR region. So much so that the residents could not enjoy that typical Dilli ki Sardi which usually makes an appearance during the beginning of the winter season itself.
However, as the month of January began, winter slowly began to creep in. In fact, weather conditions became colder during the last few days. Temperatures were being recorded well below the normal levels with cold wave as well as cold day conditions making a debut this season in the national capital.
However, Delhiites may have to bid adieu to the chilly days and nights very soon as the weather conditions are expected to change. These conditions will be attributed to the arrival of a Western Disturbance over the Western Himalayas. Under its influence, an induced cyclonic circulation will also develop in North Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan.
Due to these weather conditions, winds will become easterly-southeasterly and cloud cover is also expected to increase. Winds will become light and temperatures will increase. While very soon the temperatures will be recorded in the normal range, they may even reach slightly above the normal levels as well.
However, foggy mornings may make a comeback and the city which has been witnessing clear days may observe some fog in the coming days.
Some winter rain may also occur in Delhi and the NCR region between January 25 and 27. Thus, residents may witness a rainy republic day as well this year.
