After observing chilly conditions for a few days between January 22 and 26, temperatures once again saw a rising trend over entire Northwest India and Central India. Sunny days made an appearance keeping the winter chill out of the bay.
While warmer days made the residents feel that chilly wintry conditions had finally taken a backseat, colder day and nights will soon be witnessed by people residing in the Northwestern Plains and Central India.
During the last two days, on January 29 and 30, both day and night temperatures were well above the normal levels by around 4 to 5 degrees over many places of Northwest India and central parts of the country.
The last Western Disturbance, which resulted in widespread rain and snow over the hills of North India during the last 48 hours, has now moved away. Now, the reversal of wind pattern will take place leading to the fall in temperatures. Cold northerly winds have already started blowing over the Northwestern Plains and the central parts of the country.
At present, Delhi and other parts of Northwest India have shown a decreasing trend. During the next 4 to 5 days, until February 5, both maximum and minimum temperatures will fall by 4 to 5 degrees. Currently, the temperatures are being recorded about 6 degrees above the normal range.
This cold spell may be the last episode of winter this season. Another Western Disturbance is approaching on February 6. Thus, temperatures will again rise, and winter will finally start receding.
