The winter season in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh begins in October and lasts until March. During this time, days are experienced as pleasant and balmy and nature looks at peace.

Presently, cold northerly winds are prevailing over the entire Maharashtra and South Peninsular region. These winds are traveling via snow clad mountains of Western Himalayas. Since, these winds are cold, they have dropped the day temperatures over this area by 2-3 degrees over most parts. Night also remains chilly at many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha after having dropped by 2-4°C. Thus, cold wave conditions are continuing over this area. Severe cold wave conditions are also prevalent over many parts. Moreover, these conditions are likely to continue for the next 24 hours.

If we talk about the figures, the quantum of drop in temperatures is varying between 3℃- 6℃. Moreover, with temperatures falling at a faster pace, nights are being felt as very cold. Likewise, day temperatures have also dropped by 2℃-3℃ as results of persisting cold winds coming all the way from north and northwest directions.

By looking at the current scenario, we can say that winters have set in completely over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and it’s time to put on heavy woolens as morning and nights will give you intense shiver for next many days.

Have a look at the temperatures recorded on 27/12/2018 and 28/12/2018:-

The month of December during the winters also characterizes celebration of the largest music festival of India popularly known as ‘Tansen Samaroh’ at the city of majestic forts ‘Gwalior’ in the state of Madhya Pradesh . With music maestros delivering their vocal and musical performances and music lovers enjoying every bit of heart touching sounds, altogether with winters adding its beautiful colors, the whole scenario looks blissful. But as of now 'Tansen Samaroh' will see severe wintry season at pass.

As of now, there is no foreseen escape from this cold severity of the season at least during the next few days. The next few days will see moderate fog over many places in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Moderately dry cool winds are also expected to continue during day time. Mainly clear skies will persist.
