According to Skymet Weather, after giving good rains over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and North Rajasthan, rain belt has now shifted towards east. As a result, now many parts of Uttar Pradesh would be recording scattered rains and thundershowers today.
These rains can be attributed to a fresh Western Disturbance that had induced a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan and adjoining areas of Haryana and Punjab. As both the systems have been travelling eastwards, rains are also shifting.

However, intensity of rains would be more over the foothills of Uttar Pradesh as the system would be travelling along the foothills of Himalayas. Thus, places like Bareilly, Bahraich and Gorakhpur would see light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Few places might see one or two good spells also.
Kanpur, Lucknow, Barabanki and Raebareli would also see light rain.
To sum up the weather activity, parts of West Uttar Pradesh would see rain till tonight or tomorrow morning. Thereafter, weather would go dry by January 25. Meanwhile, rain over East Uttar Pradesh would commence from tomorrow morning and would clear up by January 26.
In wake of these rains, night temperatures have increased significant, bringing in much respite from the chilly nights. In fact, the fog would also remain at bay for next few days.
