Winter rain, foggy morning approaching Rajasthan, MP, UP

January 6, 2016 4:26 PM |

winterThe unusually warm weather in December and January has marked the winter season so far in Rajasthan. The sharp rise in temperature along with discomforting weather kept winter at bay. In the absence of the flow of cold and dry northwesterly winds, most parts of the state have been recording above average temperatures. However, light winter rain coupled with fog is expected over parts of Northwest India in next couple of days.

In the wake of fresh Western Disturbance, an induced circulation has formed over Rajasthan. Moreover, moisture incursion is likely to occur from the Arabian Sea and scattered rain and thundershowers are expected over Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh. This induced cyclonic circulation is likely to move eastwards and the rain belt is also expected to shift gradually towards Central and East Madhya Pradesh, resulting in isolated rain and thundershowers over West and Central parts of Uttar Pradesh by 8th January.

By 8th evening, the northwesterly winds will start blowing over most parts of Northwest India including Haryana, Rajasthan and western parts of Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, maximum and minimum temperature will start falling from 8th evening by 2-4 degree. Isolated places may witness a fall in temperature by 5-6 degrees.

Due to winter rain, humidity level will also increase leading to foggy mornings in these areas.
