A weak anti cyclonic circulation (clockwise flow of winds spreading away from the center of the weather system) over north Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal could change the wind conditions in the Bay and along the east coast. If this weather system intensifies further and becomes prominent, the easterly to southeasterly winds may begin blowing as northeasterly winds to commence the northeast monsoon in southern Peninsula in the next 48 to 72 hours. Normal commencement date for northeast monsoon is usually between 15th to 20th October.
Winds in north, central and east India are blowing from north northeast direction. They are coming in from cooler locations in the Himalayas. Therefore, nights will be cool and morning minimum temperatures will remain between 17 to 19 degrees in northwest plains. It will be 18 to 20 degrees in central India while east India will have minimums between 20 to 21 degrees during the next two days. Days will be warm but comfortable due to low humidity levels.
