Winter is all set to arrive in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan

Northwestern plains of the country that includes Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh still awaits for the winter chill, regardless of two occasions when it was misconceived that the winter has swathed in.

This delay could be attributed to the successive Western Disturbances that mutated the flow of cold northwesterly winds leading to increase in the mercury levels.

The national capital recorded the lowest minimum of the season on November 8 which was 10.5°C, however by November 14, it reached 17.6°C. On November 18, it again tossed to 11°C. Not only Delhi-NCR but most pockets of Northwest India witnessed this sort of see-saw temperatures.

Now, as per the weathermen at Skymet Weather, we can expect northwesterly winds to again commence by tomorrow and continue for almost a week over the region. This elongated duration of cold winds would result in a drop of both day and night temperatures.

Thus, we could say that in the next two to three days, the wintry chill can be felt. The minimum temperatures that are at present settling above the normal range over most places, would drop to near normal and then gradually below the normal level by November 25. Thereby, the wait seems to end, winter is all set to seek in.
