The state of Gujarat remains aloof from the wintry weather conditions in terms of severe cold, fog and winter rains. The month of November had remained dry so far along with which the month of December also remained completely dry. In fact, after Monsoon, the only time Gujarat receives rains is during the retreating Monsoon period, i.e. in October.

Gujarat has a long coastline with varied weather conditions wherein coastal parts see pleasant weather as compared to the interior parts. In fact, single digit temperatures do not touch the coastal parts even in December.

In fact, the wintry touch in Gujarat only occurs due to the offshoot of North Indian winters. Currently also, Cold Wave conditions are sweeping the northern parts of the country, wherein some areas are seeing frigid cold weather.

Thus, due to the northern parts of the country’s wintry weather, some parts of Gujarat are also seeing minimums in single digit. In fact, today, many areas in Gujarat have recorded the lowest minimum of the season including Gandhinagar which saw 6.8 degrees Celsius, Deesa 8 degrees, Ahmedabad 8 degrees Celsius.

North Gujarat and Kutch are the coldest in the Gujarat region which includes the cities of Bhuj, Naliya, Idar, Deesa, Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, dry weather lies ahead for these areas along with which single digit minimums on the lower side will persist for a while, at least until Cold Wave conditions persist over North India. Parts of Gujarat may also see Cold Wave conditions in the coming days.
