During the last couple of days, dry weather is continuing over entire Northwest parts of the country. These dry conditions have been prevailing since the active Western Disturbance persisting over Jammu and Kashmir has moved away from the region November 8 onward.
Since then the night temperatures are on a decreasing note in Northwest India. While, the nights are considerably cool, early mornings are experiencing shallow fog and haze. Days, on the other hand, are slightly warm with bright sunshine.
During the last 24 hours, places like Qazi Gund witnessed minimum temperatures as low as 0.6°C, Srinagar 0.6°C, Manali 2.4°C and Banihal 4.8°C. With many hilly regions already witnessing minimum temperatures below the zero-degree mark, now a considerable decrease has come in the night temperatures over Northwest Plains as well. While the lowest minimum temperature has been recorded in Sri Ganganagar 11.1°C, followed by Hisar at 11.2°C, Ludhiana 11.2°C and Patiyala 11.9 °C.
As had been earlier forecast by Skymet, this clearly marks theonset of Winters over North India. Already multiple hilly stations havewitnessed snowfall activitiesearlier this month.

Since no active systems are expected to form in close vicinity of Northwest India, hence similar dry weather is likely to continue during the next three to four days. The days will be slightly warm while nights will remain cool. Shallow fog and mist is likely to continue during the early morning hours.
