Delhi’s minimums have been witnessing a sharply declining trend. The night temperature remained under the 5-degree mark on the fourth consecutive day with the Safdarjung Observatory recording a chilly 4.2°C minimum today along with Palam Observatory with the minimum at 5.7°C.
In fact, 4.2°C is the lowest minimum that Delhi has recorded this season and that too constantly since January 6 with a slight rise on Monday. The maximums too are relaxing at early 20’s in the city.
As per Skymet Weather, the fog that prevailed in parts of Delhi and NCR has now decreased significantly due to moderate northwesterly winds, therefore, bright sunshine is expected to continue for a longer duration during the daytime and the maximums will also continue to remain in lower 20’s around 21-22 degrees Celsius.

It means, despite very cold minimums, the day will remain comfortable and the weather will become pleasant during morning hours in Delhi and adjoining Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. Further, the fog is also not expected to make a comeback anytime soon now.
However, the winter chill will continue to freeze people of Delhi and NCR for the next 1 week. The minimums will hover between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius until January 15. Thereafter, a gradual increase in both the day and night temperatures is expected for Delhi and NCR. Though even this slight rise in the minimums will also not be able to take away the winter chill.
