After having one of the wettest spells this season, both plains and hills of North India are in for an intensified winter chill episode. Rains over North India were prolonged as well as widespread with some record breaking showers in some parts as well.
Due to these rains, the entire North India presently is in a surplus zone with large excess rainfall over many pockets right from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh.
Today, we can still expect weather activity to continue in view of the remnant of the system giving some rains. Thereafter, improvement is on cards from tomorrow. Hills may see some rains tomorrow, plains will see complete clearance by then. From day after tomorrow, entire North India will see clear weather conditions.
Now, thick fog, chilly winds, drop in temperatures and cold wave conditions are expected for the entire North Indian region until the fag end of the month. In fact, Chillai Kalan will end on a harsh note as cold wave and cold day may be seen for hills as well.
