Wintry conditions have been wreaking havoc over the residents of the North Indian plains. So much so that several areas have been recording below normal minimums as well as maximums. In fact, during the last few days, isolated pockets of Punjab and Rajasthan recorded sub-zero temperatures as well.
These weather conditions were attributed to the presence of icy cold northwesterly winds. Nights and mornings were observing the biting cold winter chill. Residents got to witness the typical North Indian winter which was missing during December.
However, now, temperatures are all set to increase after 24 hours resulting in the abatement of cold wave and cold day conditions. Initially, temperatures are expected to crawl back to the normal levels. However, during the next two to three days, these temperatures may also go at least two to three degrees above the normal levels over Punjab, Haryana as well as Rajasthan.
The change in the weather pattern is expected because of the approaching Western Disturbance. Along with this, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over North Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan. Due to this, cloud cover will increase and temperatures will witness a rise over the plains of North India.
Not only this, during the next two to three days, the wind pattern may change to easterly-southeasterly resulting in a further increase in temperatures. Some rainfall activity is also expected over the plains between January 25 and 27.
