North India particularly Delhi and adjoining regions have started to feel the mild winter chill. Last night as well, the national capital along with the neighboring areas have witnessed chilly weather conditions.
As on November 16, Delhi recorded the lowest temperature of the season that was 10.6°C. However, thereafter, the temperatures increased marginally and as per the Safdarjung Observatory during last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, the minimum temperatures settled at 11.5°C.
As per Skymet Weather, as dry northwesterly winds are expected to continue over the northern plains including Delhi and the NCR, therefore both the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to fall marginally.
In another next 2-3 days, the minimum temperatures of Delhi may in fact reach to settle in single digit for the first time in season. However, as the winds are dry and cold therefore possibility of fog is minimal.
Moreover, as per the experts, the fog occurrence will take some more time and will take place at a later stage. During that time, temperatures will go down further.
Moreover, a Western Disturbance is also likely to affect the Western Himalayas on November 19. During that time, some changes in the wind direction are also foreseen. Furthermore, humidity is also likely to increase. Due to this, shallow fog will be experienced over some areas in Delhi and National Capital Regions.
However, until and unless the temperature does not reach 6-7°C, including an increase in the humidity levels during morning hours, possibility of dense fog is completely ruled out.
Though by this weekend, winter chill is likely to settle in Delhi and NCR.
