The state of Gujarat has been witnessing single digit temperatures in many areas. These single digit maximums have not amounted to cold wave conditions but then winter chill has gripped some parts of the region.
Today, Naliya saw minimums at 3.8 degrees, which amounts to cold wave in the region as the temperature was 6 degrees below normal levels. Deesa saw its minimum at 8 degrees Celsius, Gandhinagar at 6 degrees, Ahmedabad at 10 degrees Celsius
These weather conditions will continue today and tomorrow, minimum temperatures are expected to start rising across the state. In fact, the rise will be about 4-6 degrees, resulting in a sigh of relief for the residents of Gujarat.
Due to the approach of weather systems in the Western Himalayas, the seasonal anti cyclone will shift to the central parts. Thus, wind pattern will change over Gujarat becoming easterlies, southeasterlies, with winds blowing from the sea.
