Winter is knocking the doors and will soon embrace us with chilly weather. Mercury has plunged significantly during the last 48 hours and Delhi has recorded season’s lowest minimum temperatures at 16.1°C on Friday morning.

According to Skymet Weather, absence of any significant weather system and continuous flow of dry and cold northwesterly winds have led to drop in temperatures.

Moreover, no major change is expected in the coming days. Weathermen predict gradual drop in night temperatures as well as in day maximums. Mornings and evening will continue to be extremely pleasant.

In the coming days, Delhiites may even require to pull out their light woolens.

Days will also be comfortably warm during the next few days. Maximum temperatures that are presently settling in early 30s, will register a drop and settle below 30s after the span of one week. The bright sunshine will be gradually replaced by hazy sunshine.

Haze has already started setting in over Delhi-NCR during the morning hours. As a result, visibility has also reduced during this time. On Friday, visibility had dropped significantly, wherein Palam reported low visibility of 800 meters between 7 am and 8 am.

Though fog will not set in the next few days but haze, mist and smoke will occur during morning and night hours.
