Dry weather is persisting over Delhi NCR for the last many days. In fact, last time the city saw rains was on January 28. Since then, temperatures have picked a rising tangent over Delhi NCR.
Moreover, the region is seeing strong surface winds since February 12. These winds have only led in rising the temperatures even further as these are comparatively warmer. Also, the winds have helped clearing the pollution over the region. The air quality is, therefore, varying between ‘satisfactory’ to ‘very poor’ category. Only a few places in Central Delhi are recording ‘very poor’ air quality.
Now, however, the winds are likely to reduce in intensity today onward. This is when the prevailing subtropical jet stream will weaken. The wind speed will come down considerably. Due to the lowering wind speed, pollution might once again increase in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the sky conditions will remain clear for the next three to four days. The day temperature are likely to remain between 24 to 26 degrees Celsius while the night temperatures will settle around 10 degrees.
As the position of the Sun shifts more towards the northern hemisphere of the Earth, the temperatures begin to increase gradually. With no major weather activity around the corner, Summer is about to be making its first move quite soon.
