Severe heat wave conditions were prevailing in many parts of Telangana, during the last week of May. However, since the last 48 hours, temperatures have decreased marginally leading to abatement of heat wave conditions. Although, isolated pockets ofTelangana are still under heat wave conditions.
At present, a trough is extending from eastern parts of Bihar up to South Interior Karnataka across Telangana. In view of this system, we expectrain and thundershower activities to commence over parts of Telangana and continue for the next two to three days. These rain and thundershower activities will be widespread. One or two places many observe moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers.
These pre-monsoon activities will help in lowering the temperatures by a few degrees. We expect heat wave conditions to abate from some more parts of Telanganain the coming days This for sure will bring in relief from the intense heat being faced by the people of the region.
As of recent media reports, 17 people were reported dead in the state due to Summer heat.
However, the day temperature will remain above 40 degrees Celsius in most places. The weather condition will continue to remain very hot and humid. This is also the period when many causalities are being reported from Telangana due to the intense heat.
