The month of March is turning out to be good for Delhi NCR in terms of rain. If we look at the cumulative rains for the month of March, then until now, Delhi has managed to receive a total of 59.4 mm of rain. This is the second-highest rainfall the city has received in the month of March until now.
Earlier, in 2015, a total of 97.4 mm rains were witnessed in the month of March which is also the all-time record for March rains in Delhi.
Now, a fresh Western Disturbance will approach the Western Himalayas by the evening or night of March 10. Delhi is likely to receive good rains in evening or late night of March 10. These rains will continue until the early morning of March 11.
Another spell of patchy rains is expected over Delhi NCR on March 14 and 15.
There are chances for the city to surpass its all-time record of rains for March due to the upcoming rains.
Moreover, the recent rains and strong winds have led to a significant drop in pollution levels over the region. Today, the overall AQI of Delhi stands at 109. Many areas are witnessing ‘moderate’ to ‘satisfactory’ air. We expect the air quality of Delhi to remain in ‘moderate’ category over most places until March 16. Thereafter, a marginal deterioration in air quality is likely due to dry weather conditions. Day and night temperatures will also remain below normal until March 16.
