Rain to increase over Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha

July 30, 2013 1:40 PM |

Moderate rain is expected in some parts of north India including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttarakhand. Light rain is also expected over west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and east Rajasthan with moderate spells at some places.

Northeast India too will have fairly widespread rain but this will not be enough to fill the rainfall deficit that the region has been reeling under.

Meanwhile, central India will continue to get widespread moderate rain with heavy at one or two places in Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha and south Chhattisgarh. Rain will reduce over Gujarat that has been receiving some good rain over the last couple of weeks.

In the east, widespread rain will be witnessed over Orissa. Gangetic West Bengal will also see some rainfall activity as light to moderate rain is predicted in the region. East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand will receive light rain at few places. Bihar is already witnessing below average rainfall in the month of July.

On the other hand, widespread rain will continue along the west coast with heavy showers at one or two places.

Southern peninsula will have light rain at few places but this will not help improve the situation here as South Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will witness almost dry weather.
