Widespread rain in North India, more showers expected in Delhi

Light showers in Delhi and NCR, early morning today has added to the flavour of pleasant weather conditions in the city. Day time has become cool and pleasant with maximums settling in the lower thirties, while nights have become a little cold and Acs are barely being required.

Though, the pleasant weather condition has pepped up the mood of the people in the city, there is a large section that is worried and is keeping fingers crossed in hope of clear skies.

As we all know that this is the time of wedding season in India, any alert of rain would spoil the entire celebration. On October 16, 17 and 18 there are several weddings that are going to take place in Delhi and according to Skymet Meteorological Division in India, the weather conditions are largely going to remain the same, with clouds playing hide and seek.

This is due to a Western Disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir which is moving across and affecting the weather in North India. In fact there is another system following and is likely to affect the weather in the region for 2-3 days, in terms of clouding.

Meanwhile, in view of the Western Disturbance Chandigarh in Punjab received 11 mm of rain in last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday. Kapurthala and Ludhiana also recorded 2 mm of rain, while Patiala recorded 7.6 mm of rain. There was some good rain observed in Haryana too. Karnal observed 38 mm of rain, Kurukshetra 7 mm and Hisar 4.4 mm.

Up in the hills, Shimla recorded 2 mm of rain in the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday. Solan 7.2 mm, Dharamsala 2.2 mm and Sundarnagar recorded 4.4 mm of rain.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, the higher reaches in Jammu and Kashmir will continue to receive some snow, while rain in North India will prevail for the next 48 hours.
