Southwest Monsoon seems to be active over Uttar Pradesh at present. Several parts of Uttar Pradesh have received good Monsoon rains over the last 24 hours. This could be attributed to the Monsoon trough which is lying close to Uttar Pradesh.
At present the axis of the Monsoon trough is passing through Bikaner, Gwalior, Satna, Ambikapur, Balasore and thence southeastwards to the eastcentral Bay of Bengal.
Places like Lucknow, Bareilly and Bahraich have received good rains. Here’s a look at the rainfall figures in Uttar Pradesh during last 24 hours:
Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been receiving light to moderate rains for the last couple of days. However, intensity of rains increased over the last 24 hours. Delhi also received good rains to the tune of 22 mm on Saturday.
Rainfall will continue over Uttar Pradesh for another 24 tom 48 hours. Thereafter, rains will decrease over the region.

So far, Uttar Pradesh has received normal Monsoon rains. The eastern parts of the state have received 3% excess rains while West Uttar Pradesh has performed even better with 23% excess rains.
