A fresh Western Disturbance is affecting the western Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. This system is expected to persist for 2-3 days and give widespread rain over parts of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Also, some parts of Uttarakhand will receive thundershowers. This system will also lead to thundershowers in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, North Rajasthan and northwest Uttar Pradesh.
Temperatures over north Rajasthan are increasing which will give rise to thundery build up over the state. The probability of severe dust storm at one or two places cannot be ruled out.
Now, since we have entered the pre-monsoon period, rain and thunder activities will occur in patches due to convective clouds. Some parts will observe thunderstorm/dust storm accompanied with light rain. Winds will be strong with speeds of 50 - 70 kmph.
By the evening of April 20, the effect of Western Disturbance will finally be over and due to the westerly winds the temperatures will rise once again.
