A fresh Western Disturbance has already made an appearance over the Western Himalayas. The system has arrived but has a short stay of just about two days i.e. December 29 and 30.
This system will result in some rainfall activity over the hills of North India today and tomorrow. Snowfall on the other hand will only be seen in the mid and the higher reaches. Regions of Srinagar, Shimla and Manali will possibly have just some rains and snow will remain far away.
The plains may not see the effect of this system as such and only the foothills including Pathankot, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ropad, Chandigarh, Ambala may see some rainfall. Delhi and adjoining areas may see partly cloudy sky but nothing more than that.
In view of the system, winds will slow down and as it is the minimum has increased in many parts, and may climb even further by tomorrow. However, in the wake of the system, December 31 onward may see foggy conditions and temperatures may see some drop over the plains of North India.
