Western disturbance to continue giving rain and snow until tomorrow

The current western disturbance over the western Himalayan region has resulted in some good rain and snow activities over the hills of north India. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 AM on Thursday, Manali recorded 38 mm of rainfall while Gulmarg received 37 mm of rain, Jammu 1 mm, and Dharamsala 3 mm.

The weather for system is expected to continue giving rain and snow over the hills of north India until tomorrow. The peak activity is over but today some rain and snow will be seen while a reduction is likely tomorrow and clearance will only be seen by February 12 when the system will move away from the region and even the remnants will not have much effect over the Hills.

After the passage of the system, there is a possibility of avalanches in the higher reaches as temperatures will rise and there may be some incident here or there. Around February 15, another system is expected to be seen making an appearance over the Hills.
