Western disturbance is approaching the Western Himalayas and a fresh round of rain and snow will start over the mountains. The residual effect will take the rains over plains as well, albeit light, scanty and brief. The wet spell will not trigger any disturbing weather conditions, both over the hills and plains. Mountain ranges will have weather activity between the 21st and 24th of March and isolated pockets in the plains on the 24th of March only. Cessation of activity and subsequent clearance will commence on 25th March, but only for a short break. Close on the heels of this system, another disturbance is expected to follow.
Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh region will have the activity on all four days. Popular resorts like Srinagar, Pahalgam and Gulmarg will witness rain and snow for the entire duration. For the state of Himachal Pradesh, the mid and the higher reaches only and that too, and the western half of the state will observe moderate or light spells of rain and snow. The Spread and intensity of the activity will be the least for the state of Uttrakhand and also will be truncated for two days only. The state will observe a similar trend for the next system as well, between 27th and 29th March.
Plains will mostly get spared of any significant activity during the passage of this system. On the last day, that is 24th March, isolated weather activity may occur over border areas of Haryana and Rajasthan in proximity to Delhi. The national capital stands a meagre chance of a fleeting shower in some parts of NCR. No major changes are expected in the mercury levels. The next system arriving on 26th/27th March will be a shade stronger than its predecessor.
