A western disturbance, as an upper air circulation, is marked over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir. Also, a cyclonic circulation in the lower levels is marked over the Haryana region. Both these systems will move eastward. The western disturbance will track along the Western Himalayas, while the cyclonic circulation will shift to Delhi and southwest Uttar Pradesh tomorrow and further on to the foothills of west Uttar Pradesh a day later. It is likely to break up over the same region within the subsequent 24 hours.

The western disturbance is not a very active system, and the cyclonic circulation over the plains is also weak. Still, the higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh will witness scattered snowfall. The lower and middle hills will have rain and thundershowers, particularly over the Kashmir Valley. The state of Uttarakhand will have a cloudy sky with isolated rain and snow over highly elevated areas. Most of the weather activity will occur today, during the evening and night hours. The residual effect will be observed as very light and isolated activity tomorrow, followed by clearance thereafter.

The plains of Punjab and Haryana will also have light weather activity during the same period. The foothills will have the major share, with patchy and brief spells elsewhere in the region. Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Ropar, Mohali, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Ambala, and Yamuna Nagar are likely to experience scattered showers in the late evening and night today. Delhi will be rather far on the periphery and may witness only sporadic activity.

Plains will see broad clearance tomorrow itself, while the mountains will take another 24 hours to clear up completely. Popular resorts and elevated places such as Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Manali, the Lahaul-Spiti Valley, and the Narkanda–Kufri peaks will receive light to moderate snowfall. Following the clearance of weather on 6th November, cold winds are likely to roll down the slopes, bringing a nip in the air. Night temperatures are expected to drop, giving the first feel of the typical winter chill of the season.
