Western Disturbance Approaching Mountains Of North, Unlikely To Affect Plains

Western disturbance has cleared the Mountainous states of North India and a fresh one waits in the wings to arrive anytime soon. Though not very active, another western disturbance is likely to arrive on 08th Dec sprawling across Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between 08th and 10th Dec.  Remnant effect may be seen on 11th Dec as well.

Previous western disturbance had a similar run across the region, albeit with reduced intensity and spread. Higher reaches are likely to have rain and snow, preceded by overcast skies. Mid reaches may also witness cloudy sky with light to moderate showers, more so for Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Lower hills and the foothills, including places of tourist attraction like Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Manali may observe partly cloudy sky and light rain.

Weather activity is unlikely to impact plains of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi.  The wind pattern may become elusive over these pockets. This may suppress any further drop in temperatures which are otherwise likely to swing between 6 degrees and 8 degrees at most places. Chilly morning and pleasantly warm afternoons are likely across the region. Some specks of medium and high clouds at few places can not be ruled out. No thick fog, disrupting routine activity is expected in the plains of North India.
