The Fresh Western Disturbance has already approached the Western Himalayan region and some light weather activity has already begun. Overcast skies have been there in the last 24 hours including for Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg.

The peak intensity is expected today and weather activities will be starting from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, spilling later to Himachal and Uttarakhand. The weather activity will be the least over Uttarakhand and will be mostly seen tomorrow. Today also, peak intensity is expected to be seen during the evening and night hours.

Tomorrow, the weather activity may begin on a slower note but the spread will be the same across all four mountainous regions. On Feb 10 also, rain and snow will be seen. In fact, even on Feb 11, some activity is expected but it will be on a much reduced note and major clearance is expected on February 12. Thus, the weekend is also likely to be rainy and snowy for the hills.

Since today is the peak day, some clouding has also spilt over to parts of Punjab and the foothills of Haryana. Therefore, we can expect some light rainfall activity over parts of Punjab particularly the northern area including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, even some areas of Amritsar, Jalandhar and even may reach up to Ludhiana, all this particularly during the evening hours.
