In the same span of time, the capital city only recorded traces of rain. As per Skymet Weather, occasional light with one or two moderate spells may continue to show over Gangetic West Bengal, including Kolkata for the next 2-3 days.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over the northwest Bay of Bengal off North Odisha Coast. This weather system will become insignificant in the coming days. Due to this, rain may reduce marginally. However, another cyclonic circulation is likely to develop around October 8 over Odisha coast which is likely to give on and off rain over West Bengal including Kolkata till October 12.

The Southwest Monsoon season has finally bid farewell giving rains over the region. However, Gangetic West Bengal remained rain deficient by 3 percent but Sub Himalayan West Bengal remained rain surplus by 2 percent.
